torchdeck is a digital agency for small and mid-sized businesses: we design and build a business's website, run its online ordering, its customer records (CRM) and its monthly figures (analytics), build tools no app sells, and stay on afterwards as the people the owner calls. The site has one job: get a business owner on a call with us. Its proof is our own work, live now on pukkapadel.com, valenconstruction.com and p2comsports.com, so the site itself has to be the best thing we have made. No prices anywhere: the price is given on the call.
The concept: the work, dealt. The page is a dark table (Night, the brand's navy). Our work is a deck of real cards, each one a live site or a product screen, dealt across it and lit by a torch, the mark's own flame and the British word for a hand lamp. The opening deals the deck; the work stage turns the cards up one at a time; the light that follows the pointer is the one signature move, and it comes back in the comparison tables, where it runs down our column. Brand from the owner's guide (2 Nov 2026): Night #030714, white, one orange (Torch #FC6F18, buttons with Night words), Golos Text 600 for headings, Inter for text, the name always lowercase.
Frames at 1920x1080 and 390x844, every size written in real pixels. The pictures are real: our client sites captured live on 2 Nov 2026, and screens of our own products (the CRM in Valen's colours, the takeaway app as drawn for Saffron Lane, an invented takeaway, and the analytics of Northside Fitness, an invented gym). Motion plays as each frame scrolls into view; "Play again" replays it. Brief and checks: docs/design/torchdeck-site.md.
Round two (owner, 2 Nov, evening). The nav is Work, Products (CRM, Analytics, Takeaway ordering under it) and About (frame 1b). An About us page (AB1 to AB3; How we work is folded into it). The Work page now lists every client in full (W1b). The brands we built for run sideways, clickable, in a band under the opening, in place of "Live now". In the work stage the client's name no longer runs behind the window (frame 3). Our site follows theirs: every picture and date of a client's site is taken again whenever we publish a change to it (brief, "Our site follows theirs").
A service sold by enquiry, so a funnel: the claim and the proof together in the first screen, the work, what we run, what we build, why we stay, how it starts, and the call booked on the page itself. The header's button carries the next free call time, read from the booking calendar.
1 / the opening
We design and build your website, your online ordering, your customer records and your monthly figures. Then we stay on as the people you call.

Sites we built

Opening type: motion, over the real work. A business owner judges an agency by its own site and by what it has made, so the first screen is the work itself, dealt as a deck, with the claim in large type beside it. Text on its own would ask to be believed; the cards are the proof. Enters: the two lines rise from a mask, a line at a time; the words, the button and the live addresses follow; the six cards are dealt up from below the screen one after another, across the table from the lower left to the upper right, dark, then the torch's light passes across them left to right and each card comes up to full colour as it is reached. The brands we built for run sideways in a band along the foot of the first screen, in their own logos: each one is a link to its page in Work, the band drifts slowly so a logo can be clicked, a small pause button stops it, and keyboard focus stops it too (it never stops just because the pointer is over it, the owner's word of 4 Oct). New clients join the band as they go live (see "Our site follows theirs" in the brief). In view: a pool of warm light follows the pointer across the table (move the mouse over the frame); the card under the pointer lifts, straightens and comes to the front. Leaves: the spread closes into a stack and the Pukka Padel card rides up and grows into frame 2's window.

1b / the Products menu, open

The nav: Work, Products and About, with Book a call. Products opens on hover or press and holds the three products in the owner's order (CRM, Analytics, Takeaway ordering), each with a small picture of itself and a line; each leads to its page. The menu stays open while the pointer moves into it and closes on Escape or a press outside. Enters: the panel drops a few pixels and fades in, its rows one after another; the page behind dims. Leaves: it fades out. On a product's own page, Products is underlined.

2 / the work, first card: Pukka Padel
Pukka Padel
Padel clubs: nine places, one site.
The first screen finds the nearest club, says whether it is open and books a court. Every club has its own page, made from one design.

1 of 3
Enters: the Pukka card from frame 1 grows into the window and the stage pins for three screens; the name, the line and the facts rise in turn. In view: pukkapadel.com plays in its window from its first screen to its footer (the whole live page, captured 2 Nov) and the phone beside it shows the same site at 390; the two waiting cards of the deck sit at the right edge. The window, the phone and the "Updated" date are read from the client's own site each time we publish a change to it, so this stage always shows the site as it is now. Leaves: the next screen of scrolling deals the card: the window slides off to the left like a card thrown down, and the Valen card turns up from the stack into its place (frame 3); the bar at the foot moves to 2 of 3.

A site built to bring in project enquiries. Each kind of work has its own page, and Start your project asks about the job a few questions at a time.

2 of 3
Enters: the Valen card turns up from the stack at the right and settles into the window; its words replace Pukka's, rising in turn. In view: valenconstruction.com plays from top to foot; the phone shows it at 390. Leaves: dealt to the left; P2's card turns up (frame 4).

P2 Comsports

A site that starts the enquiry in its first screen: a single court, a full centre or a partnership, then only the questions that fit, a step at a time.

3 of 3
Enters: the last card turns up; the stack at the right is empty. In view: p2comsports.com plays top to foot. Leaves: the pin lets go and the page scrolls on to a white band (frame 5). Built from data: a fourth client adds a card and a screen of scrolling, nothing else; with more than six the stage keeps the latest six and "All work" lists the rest.

Owner, 2 Nov: no small screenshots inside the words. Everything we look after is one picture instead: the client's site on a laptop, the CRM on a tablet, the takeaway order and the month's figures on two phones, set together on the white band at a size that reads, each with its own short label. Enters: the heading rises; the laptop comes up first, then the tablet, then the two phones, each settling into place a moment after the last; each label arrives with its device. In view: every screen plays its subject: the site scrolls on the laptop, a card moves to the next stage on the tablet, the driver's dot travels on the order, the month's sentences build on the last phone. The pointer tilts the group very slightly. Leaves: the band slides up under the Night band of "What we run for you".

Enters: the heading rises; the first product's words and its two phones come up in turn; the kitchen ticket prints down out of the top edge line by line. In view: the stage pins for three screens and each screen of scrolling turns to the next product (Takeaway ordering, CRM, Analytics); pressing a name jumps to it. In this storyboard the three switch by themselves every few seconds, and the names can be pressed. Each product's pictures move: the order on its way shows the driver's dot travelling, the CRM board slides a card to the next stage, the analytics words build line by line. Leaves: the pin lets go on the last product.

In view: the changes arrive one by one, newest first, like a feed; as each lands its "Live" stamp lights orange, the torch passing down the list. The list is read from our own CRM's records, so it changes as we work. Leaves: the panel stays while the page moves on (no pin). The portfolio: the work at size, then every client in full (W1b), then one page per client. Every picture of a client's site is taken from their live site each time we publish a change to it, so ours always shows theirs as it is now. The client pages share one design, filled by each client's own facts, pictures and moment; Pukka Padel is drawn here, Valen Construction and P2 Comsports take the same frames with their own (Valen's moment is Start your project in steps; P2's is the enquiry that opens in the first screen).

Our site follows theirs: each window, phone and date here is taken from the client's live site whenever we publish a change to it, so a visitor always sees the current site and the latest "Updated" date. All work
Padel clubs, nine places. We made the site, the court finder and a page for every club.

Opening type: image, the client's site at full width. The work is the reason to come, so it is drawn as large as the screen allows. Enters: the name rises; the facts arrive in turn; the window rises from below with the site at its first screen; the phone slides in at the right. Below, the Leeds club page and the clubs map rise in turn, each scrolling a little inside its window. Leaves: to the next client's card ("Next: Valen Construction", a deck card at the foot of the page) and the booking. For Valen this frame is Start your project in steps; for P2, the enquiry that opens in the first screen.

Moment of the page, made from the business's own subject: an order going from a customer's phone to their door. In view: the stage pins for five screens; each screen of scrolling moves to the next step, the clock on the left lights the step, the phone changes to what the customer sees then, and the kitchen side answers (the ticket prints at step 2, the kitchen screen moves the order along at step 3). In this storyboard the steps play by themselves; press a step to jump. Leaves: the pin lets go after "Delivered". The phone screens are the takeaway app as drawn (TKW-P1 frames); the built screens replace them before this page goes live.
